Improving patient safety by reducing harm arising from medical treatment has been a focus of policy-makers, practitioners and academics alike. Those working within pharmacy practice research use a range of research methodologies to contribute to the field of patient safety. The 22nd HSRPP conference will offer an exciting opportunity to share experiences of using novel, multi-disciplinary robust research methodology within the theme ‘ending harm from medication’.
Foreword by Dr Parastou Donyai and Dr Nilesh Patel
We are delighted to welcome you to the University of Reading and to the 22nd HSRPP conference, 2016. The venue will be the Greenlands Campus, home to Henley Business School. This world-renowned and picturesque campus is set in its own 30-acre estate in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside, alongside the River Thames. This year we also celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Reading School of Pharmacy so it is a real pleasure and privilege to be hosting the conference in our celebration year.
The conference focusses on the topic of medication harm reduction and through the conference theme we ask if we are getting closer to minimising the damage that medicines and unsafe medication practices can have on patients. We also look forward to showcasing presentations underlined by a variety of methodologies as we embrace the distinct research methods that inform health services and pharmacy practice research.
We have three stimulating and inspiring keynote speakers. All three of our speakers have undertaken research relating to safe medication practices and medication safety which fits perfectly to the theme of the 22nd HSRPP Conference. We are also organising four parallel workshops that will cover topics of current interest, including methodological approaches and professional development.
Abstract submissions will be accepted from 6th August 2015. The deadline for submissions is 9th October 2015. We very much look forward to receiving and reviewing your abstracts and corresponding with you about your submissions in due course.
We will be updating this page as we work towards finalising the programme for the 22nd HSRPP conference at the University of Reading in 2016.
